EARLY QUIT NEWSLETTER...
Vice President Griggs, opened our meeting with a moment of silence for the safe return of our men and women serving our country overseas and for the passing of Charles Davis.  Charles  was a charter member of our retirees club and our  secretary for many years.  He will be sadly missed.

Reports:
The credit union’s 40th anniversary celebration was enjoyed by all.  One hundred forty members attended.  The food, the open bar and the disc jockey were all outstanding.  A big thank you to all those who made the night so memorable.

We thank all you ladies for your support.  You have been with us for these sixteen years.  From New York to Las Vegas, you’ve made these trips enjoyable.

We will be planning our trips and outings for 2008 at our January meeting. If there are any trips you think we would be interested in taking, please let us know.

To the ladies in the funds office and the ladies in the union office, I send all of you a great big thank you.  With your help you made it all worthwhile and so easy getting the newsletter out each month.

As we approach the Yuletide season, I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year.

Dates to Remember:
The following are trips and outings for this year:
December 4th Our Christmas luncheon will be held on December 4th at Ventura’s restaurant on Route 73 in Voorhees, N.J.  Starting time is 12:00 noon.  There will be no charge for members with their dues paid.  There will be an additional $5.00 charge for those paying at the door.  The charge for ladies attending is $25.00.  All members are requested to bring a door prize valued at $20.00.
December 9th Local 14 will hold its annual retirees Christmas party on December 9th from 12:00 to 4:00 P.M.  The party will be held at the Kelly Ann Ballroom in Gloucester City, N.J. There is no charge for retirees or widows.
Goldy's Joke of the Month:
The wise old Mother Superior was dying.  The nuns were gathered around her bed.  She asked for a little warm milk to sip, so a nun went to the kitchen to get some.  Remembering a bottle of whiskey received as a gift the previous Christmas, she opened it and put a generous amount into the warm milk.

Mother drank a little, then a little more, then before they knew it,
she had consumed the whole glass down to the last drop.

“Mother, Mother” the nuns cried, “Give us some wisdom before you die!”

She raised herself up in bed with a pious look on her face and pointing out the window she said, “Don’t sell that cow!!!”

I hope to see you at our next meeting on December 18th..
