EARLY QUIT NEWSLETTER...
Vice
President Griggs, opened our meeting with a moment of silence for the safe
return of our men and women serving our country overseas and our members
on the sick list.
Our
Christmas luncheon at Ventura’s Restaurant was enjoyed by all those present.
It just keeps getting better each year. Thank you to chairmen Larry
and Al for a job well done.
Our
retirees club members thank the officers and members of local 14 for another
outstanding Christmas party. The food, the music and the mummers
made this a day to remember. Lenny was the hit of the day with his
banjo playing.
If
you are a retiree of local 14 and not a member of our club, we invite you
to join us. We meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m.
at the union hall. Refreshments are served. If you cannot attend
our meetings, you can still be a member by sending in your dues of $15.00.
We need your support. Come and see some old friends and meet some
new ones.
We
are looking forward to the support of the ladies again this year.
We thank you for being there for the past sixteen years. If you have
any trips or outings you think the club would be interested in, please
let us know.

Goldy's
Joke of the Month:
Dorothy
and Edna, two senior widows are talking. Dorothy says “That nice George
Johnson asked me out on a date. I know you went out with him last
week, and I wanted to talk to you about him before I give him my answer.
Edna replied, “He showed up at my house on time dressed like such a gentleman
in a fine suit, and he brought me beautiful flowers! He took me out for
a lobster dinner with champagne, dessert and after dinner drinks.
Then we went to see a show. I enjoyed it so much I could have just
died from pleasure! So then we are coming back to my house and he turns
into an animal! Completely crazy, he tears off my expensive new dress
and has his way with me two times!”
Dorothy
excitedly answers “Goodness gracious! --- so you are telling me I shouldn’t
go out with him?”
“No
no no,” Edna says. “I’m just saying, wear an old dress!”
| I hope to see you at
our next meeting on February 19th.. |
