Local 14’s retiree’s Christmas party will be held at the Kelly Ann Ballroom again this year.  We will let you know the date in a future newsletter.

Reports:
Our club historian, Bill McCarron, will be giving another of his great reports at our August meeting.  We thank him for taking his time to make these reports so informative.

The Delaware River Bridge Authority recently announced a proposed change to its bridge toll schedule.  Changes were also recommended to the current senior discount bridge toll program.  New applicants and current participants are encouraged to order no more than one book at a time.  Please note that the following recommendations have not been approved by the DRBA board.  They will be considered at the August board meeting.

1. Seniors may pay toll with 2 coupons per trip from the time the proposed increase takes effect until December 31, 2008.
2. Seniors who wish to continue in the program will be asked to open an E-ZPass account.
3. Paper coupons/tickets will no longer be used after December 31st 2008.
Senior discount can only be applied during off-peak hours (not valid 6am-9am or 4pm-7pm on weekdays)
4. Senior discount can only be applied to one trip per day.
5. Any senior discount tickets that remain after the December 31st date may be applied as credit to an E-ZPass account.
Again, this is a proposal and subject to change.

Goldy's Joke of the Month:
Morris, an 82 year old man, went to the doctor to get a physical.  A few days later the doctor saw Morris walking down the street with a gorgeous woman on his arm.

A couple of days later the doctor spoke to Morris and said, “You’re really doing great, aren’t you?”

Morris replied, “ Just doing what you said,” Doc, “get a hot mamma and be cheerful.”

The doctor said, “I didn’t say that.” I said, “You’ve got a heart murmur and be careful.”

I hope to see you at our next meeting on August 19th..
