August 2001

President Bud Eiding opened our July meeting with thirty members present.  He asked for a moment of silence for our sick and departed brothers.  We all welcomed two of our long-standing members, Ellis Coffey and Walter McGee.  Looking good guys.

Our club historian Ed Chew donated an American flag and base to the club.  It will be used at all meetings and other affairs.  Thank you Ed for your generosity.  Ed will have another of his informative reports at our August meeting.

Long time member Bill Butler entertained us at our July meeting.  We were amazed at what a multi-talented man he is.  Not only does he make beautiful furniture, but his woodcarving is outstanding.  He also makes baskets as small as one inch up to very large.  His beautiful oil paintings show what a talented artist he is.  He also showed us his collection of glass bottles from as early as 1600 and his collection of arrowheads which he digs for himself.  Many thanks to Bill from all of us for such a wonderful presentation.
