November 2001 |
| President
Bud Eiding opened our October meeting with a silent prayer for the victims
and their families of the September 11th attack on America. Our prayers
and thanks go out to all the rescue workers who gave their time and effort
so willingly and still continue to do so.
I am also sad to report the passing of Ray Underwood on October 18th. He will be sadly missed. Our hats are off to business manager Pat Eiding and all those who helped make the Mesothelioma golf fund raiser such a huge success. There were 278 golfers that filled the two courses. A total of one hundred eighty thousand dollars was raised and will be donated to the Fox Chase Cancer Center. We applaud you! We received a thank you letter from Pat Eiding for the gold page ad we took in the fund raiser book. Vegas Report – The weather was 95 each day. The shows we attended were outstanding and we couldn’t say enough about the food. It was delicious, especially when it was comped. The bells were sure ringing for our ladies. Sorry to hear that the men all broke even. We are looking forward to our next trip to Las Vegas. Hope you can join us. Attention all retirees club members. We will hold nominations for officers for the year 2002 at our November meeting. Officers to be voted on are President, 2 Vice Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, 2 Sergeant at arms and one travel Chairman. President Bud welcomed
Bob Durham to our October meeting. He is a long time member and one
of the pillars of our retirees club.
