January 2003

We had fifty people attend our Christmas luncheon at the Rosebrier Caterers including members, their ladies and union officers.  This was our largest turnout in eleven years.

President Bud presented Bill Rothermel with a plaque for all his time and effort in getting our club started and also for being our first president.  Thank you from all of us.  Bud also presented our Administrator of Funds, Mike Burns, with a plaque for all the support and help he has given our retirees club.  We applaud you Mike.

We would like to thank Chairman Larry Durham and Jim McGee for making this day so special.  Each member received a door prize and our ladies received a special Christmas gift from the members.  It was a job well done.

We thank the officers and members of Local 14 for the great Christmas party at the Kelly Ann Ballroom.  The food, music, dancing, string band and Santa made for an enjoyable time.  All the ladies received a beautiful poinsettia plant.  Membership pins were given out to those with twenty five to fifty years of service as members of Local 14.

President Bud called upon Bill Rothermel to present a gold bracelet to Pat Eiding from all the members of the retirees club in appreciation for helping to start our club and making it what it is today.

If you are a retiree of Local 14 and not a member of our retirees club, we invite you to join us.  We meet on the third Tuesday of each month at the union hall.  If you live out of state, you can become a member by sending in your dues to the retirees club in care of Local 14.  Dues are $10.00 a year.

If you need transportation to attend our meetings, call and we will make arrangements for you.

When you sign up for a trip or outing, a 25% deposit is required with the balance to be paid one month before the trip or outing.  We’re looking forward to another exciting year and hope you will join in the fun.
