March 2004

Vice President, Jim McGee opened our meeting with a moment of silence for the safe return of our Armed Forces and the passing of Local 14 member Jack Walters.

President, Bud Eiding, has returned home from the hospital and is receiving treatment for his hip as an outpatient.  He’s doing well Dick Reeves taped a message from Bud to the Retirees Club members.  He sounded great.  If you would like to call Bud, his phone number is (610) 369-8099.  Please call after 6:00 pm.

Joe Pettit is at home and doing well after his operation and rehabilitation.  Hurry back Joe.  We’re looking forward to seeing you.

Larry Durham is at home after a short stay in the hospital and doing better than ever.  Before he went into the hospital, Barb asked him where the money is hidden.  He told her he wasn’t that sick.

Tom Buhalo has received a lung transplant and is in rehab.  He was on the waiting list for five years before being chosen.  He is the first Local 14 member to receive a lung transplant.  We all wish him a speedy recovery.

Get well cards were signed by the membership and sent along with flowers to our members on the sick list.

Did you notice that Ray Boyce was missing from the refreshment table?  Word has it that he received a good offer from Krispy Kreme.

Our historian did it again!  What an excellent report on World War II.  Ed, we look forward to your reports and thank you for the time and effort you put into them.

If you are not a member of our retirees club, we invite you to join us.  We meet the third Tuesday of each month at the union hall.  Our meetings start at 10:00 a.m. and refreshments are served.  If for some reason you cannot attend our meetings, you can still be a member by sending in your $10.00 yearly dues.  If you need transportation, we will make arrangements for you to be picked up.  We need your support.
