July 2004

Vice President, Jim McGee opened our meeting with a moment of silence for our deceased members and for the speedy return of our men and women who are serving our country overseas.

Jim introduced our invited guest, Frank Coyne, who is the president of Local 420 steamfitter’s retirees club.  Frank worked on jobs with many of our members.  Old friends were glad to see him and we thanked him for coming.

Our next guest was Diane L. Cowan who is an investigator for the law firm of Raynes, McCarty, Binder, Ross and Mundy.  Our members offered to identify names and labels of materials we may have used.  They have clients with mesothelioma who are in need of help.  After reviewing the pictures of labels and products, she brought with her, everything was identified.  Diane could not thank our members enough.  We were glad we could help because we all know the meaning of mesothelioma and what it has done to many of our friends and loved ones.

Our club historian gave another one of his informative reports.  Many thanks from all of us Ed.

Did you see the look on Ray Boyce’s face when he saw someone sitting at his place at the refreshment table?  You miss one meeting and white mustache Charles Davis replaces you.  Always good to see pal Joey Porter at the meeting.

How about Al Staehle winning the fifty-fifty.  They say money goes to money.  One win in thirteen years isn’t bad.

Our sunshine club Chairman, Bill Cammann gave the following report:  Past President Bill Rothermel is home from the hospital and doing well after surgery.  Joe Pettit is doing well at home.  We’re looking forward to your return Joe.  We miss you.  Chairman Bill visited Jim Lavin and said he is coming along fine.  We are getting a group together to visit President Bud Eiding.  If you would like to join us, please contact Chairman Bill Cammann at our July meeting.
