November 2004

EARLY QUIT NEWSLETTER...
President Jim McGee opened our meeting with a moment of silence for the safe return of our men and women serving in the armed forces overseas.  We wish them all a speedy return home to their loved ones.

Nominations and elections were held for officers for the year 2005.  The following members were elected:

   President   Jim McGee
   Vice President   George Griggs
   Vice President   Bill Imperatore
   Secretary   Lee Rothermel
   Financial Secretary  Dick Reeves
   Sergeant of Arms  Al Grimmie

Someone said that the club is in better hands than Allstate.

Mesothelioma Golf Fund Report:  As of October 19, 2004, one million forty five thousand dollars has been raised and money is still coming in.  We thank all our members who helped make this day such a great success.

Good to see Jack Collius, John Ragan and Jim Brey.  How about Jim taking off fifty pounds.  Someone said that he took off his money belt.

A good time was had by all in Las Vegas.  The shows, raft trip, and side trips were all outstanding.  Larry and Goldy enjoyed the pool.  They never left the lunch table to go in the water.  Drinks were given out to the members who were tubing as they went by.  Nice job Bill.  You never spilled a drop!

Business Manager, Marty, came to our meeting to enlighten us about the presidential election.  Our local and all other labor unions are supporting John Kerry.  The international president has requested that our elected business agents assist with the election in Florida.  We now have President Jim Cunningham and Business Agent Steve Pettit in Florida.  Charles Seeberger and business manager Marty Campbell will leave upon their return.  Marty asked for any of the membership who can help out at the polls on election day to call the union office.  Marty said that all members are working and the future looks good.
