May 2005

EARLY QUIT NEWSLETTER...
President Jim McGee opened our meeting with a moment of silence for the passing of Edgar Larson, long time member of Local 14 and friend of many.  He will be sadly missed.

It’s time once again for Local 14’s spring golf outing which will be held at the Island Green Country Club on May 14th.  It is located at 1 Red Lion Road in Philadelphia.  As always, golfers who are retired are invited guests.  If you are going to attend, please call the union hall.  Cutoff date is Mat 6th.  Shot gun start is at 2:00 P.M.

Many thanks to Al Grimmie, Harold Chester and Larry Durham for a great lunch and golf meeting.  It was good to see our club historian, Ed Chew, there.  Rip Connelly looked like he stepped out of a body building magazine.  Did you see Charles Davis take off his tee shirt?  It said where’s Ray Boyce on the front and it had a jelly donut on the back.

Our members would like to thank the officers and members of the local for the invitation to the spring golf outing. A big thank you from all of us.

We are now mailing 175 news letters out to all Local 14 retirees where ever they reside.  I thank all of you who make this possible each month.
