Jim McGee opened our meeting with a moment of silence for all our deceased
members and also for those on our sick list.
Administrator
of Funds, Mike Burns, came to our meeting and explained Local 14’s new
contract. He explained each part and how the money was distributed.
After answering all questions, he assured us that we have the best coverage
available. Thank you, Mike from all of us.
It
is with great pleasure that I report that Edgar Larson was awarded the
Dick Rollison golf award. His wife said that she will treasure the
trophy forever.
Our
sunshine club Chairman, Bill Cammann, reported that the following members
are on the sick list. Harold Chester, Arthur Schwenk, Joe Pettit
who is now home from the hospital and doing well and Bill Rothermel who
is doing great. (You can’t keep him down).
2005 Trips and Events
The
following is a list of trips and outings we will be taking this year and
the chairman of each one:
Our
fishing trip is on July 13th out of Barnegat Light. The name of the
boat is the Carol Ann and it leaves the dock at 7:30 A.M. sharp and returns
at 2:00 P.M. The price is $35.00. Directions to Barnegat
Light are as follows: Take route 72 east to Long Beach Island.
Go to the second red light, about seven to eight miles. In Barnegat
Light at the red light turn left on 18th street. The boat is on the
left side of the parking lot.
Phillies
ballgame with Los Angeles is a day game on July 21st. Tickets are
$18.00. If you would like to join us, Chairman - Al Staehle
will have tickets at our July meeting.
Baltimore
Harbor and ballgame is on August 1st. Price for the bus is $25.00.
There is no charge for ballgame tickets. Chairmen- Dick Reeves reported
that this trip is sold out.
Our
Washington D.C. sightseeing trip has been moved to the spring when the
cherry blossoms are in bloom. Chairman – Jim O will be making the
arrangements in the fall. He will keep up informed at future meetings.
Our
Las Vegas trip will be from September 28 to October 4th. Seven days,
six nights at the Monte Carlo Hotel. We’ll fly U.S. Air non stop.
The total price is $735.00. This trip is to be paid in full by August
1st. Please bring the remainder of your money to our July 19th meeting.

union picnic is September 10th.
Mesothelioma
Golf Fund raiser is September 30th.
Our
Christmas luncheon will be held at the Rosebrier Restaurant again this
year. All members with their 2005 dues paid will attend free of charge.
