September 2005

EARLY QUIT NEWSLETTER...
President Jim opened our meeting with a moment of silence for the safe return of the men and women who are serving overseas.  We also had a moment of silence for the passing of William Singer long time member of Local 14.

The Health Fund Administrator Mike Burns addressed the meeting concerning Medicare Part D.  He explained that all retirees and widows have no need to sign up for Medicare Part D. They have much better coverage with the fund.  The coverage through the Union is free.  If you sign up for Medicare Part D, it will cost you money and you will have inferior drug insurance.

A motion was made and passed that our yearly dues be increased to $15.00 a year starting January 2006.

Banquet chairman Larry Durham reported that due to the closing of the Rosebrier Restaurant, our Christmas luncheon will be held at the Adelphia Restaurant in Deptford, New Jersey on December 6th.  There will be no charge for members who have their 2005 dues paid by our October meeting.  The cost for those who do not have their dues paid is $25.00.  If you are bringing your lady, their will be a charge of $25.00.  Our membership committee will give a full report at our September meeting.  If you have a question pertaining to the luncheon, see Chairman Larry Durham or Bill Imperatore at our next meeting.
