EARLY QUIT NEWSLETTER...
Vice President Jim O’Driscoll opened our meeting with a moment of silence for our deceased members and those on the sick list.  Special get well wishes to Charles Davis and Joseph Porter.

After the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting and the financial secretary’s report were accepted, all committee chairmen were called on for their reports.

The following trips and outings are being planned for this year.

April 28th: Spring golf outing is on Saturday, at the Melrose Country Club, 7600 Tookany Parkway, Cheltenham, PA.  Tee off is at 1:15 p.m. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m.  As always, golfers who are retired members are guests and there will be no charge.  Call the union office as soon as possible if you are attending.  The official cutoff date is April 20th.

June 5th: we will be taking a cruise on the Circle Line around New York City.  This trip includes bus, boat and dinner at Mastories Restaurant on the way home.  The bus will leave the union hall at 9:00 a.m.  We will sail on the 12:30 p.m. cruise.  The price of the trip is $85.00 per person.  Please send your check to Local 14 Retirees Club. Don’t miss the boat!

July 28: Chairman Fred Reign reported that he has 50 tickets for the Phillies ballgame on July 28th. This is an afternoon game starting at 1:00 p.m.  Tickets are $23.00 and if you need any further information or wish to purchase tickets, please call Fred at (609) 728-4140.

August 5th: International convention starts in Las Vegas.  Headquarters for the convention will be Caesars Palace.  Boscov’s Travel has a Las Vegas package for five days and four nights staying at the Excaliber Hotel and Casino.  The price is $451.00 per person. Treasure Island Hotel and Casino is $520.00 per person.  Treasure Island is two casinos away from Caesars Palace, the host hotel.

September 8th: Union picnic is on Saturday.

Captain Lee will have an updated report on our spring fishing and fall striper trips at our next meeting.

There is no date set yet for the Mesothelioma golf fund raiser.

Liberty Travel is putting a Las Vegas trip together for our Retirees club.  The package will include flying out of Atlantic City on Spirit Airlines and staying at Treasure Island Hotel and Casino.  As soon as we receive the price and date, we will inform all members.

Chairman Larry Durham reported on the Retirees Club Christmas luncheon.  It will be held on December 4th at Ventura’s  Restaurant, Route 73 in Voorhees.

There is no date set yet for Local 14’s retirees Christmas party.  The Credit Union will celebrate it’s 40th anniversary on Saturday evening, November 10th.  More information will be received by all members of the Credit Union.



We would like to thank all of the ladies for their outstanding support over these sixteen years.  You were with us from New York to Las Vegas and everything in between.  We look forward to your continued support.

At our meeting, Business agent Marty presented me with my 55 year membership pin.  I would like to thank all of you who made this day so special.
